Program: Stevia and Monkfruit sweeteners. Avoid aspartame, splenda, nutrasweet (especially for children).

Monkfruit is zero calories. Does not stimulate insulin release. Safe for diabetics. Some brands have erythritol combined with it, which may cause gas. Though erythritol is a pre-biotic which helps feed good gut bacteria.

Homework for this week:

Check the nutrition panel on one or two products purchased frequently, like bread, salad dressing, and peanut butter. We are trying to purchase items with zero sugar or sugar not listed in the first three ingredients.


Once you've found the product with the least sugar, that should be your go-to food item when shopping.


Though this will be tedious the first few times you read the labels, over the course of weeks you'll change your diet and begin to stop craving sugary items. Yes, sugar in your peanut butter makes you crave more sweets.
